Fredericksburg Nationals: “The FredNats closed out their series against Delmarva with a third walk-off win on the week, to beat the Shorebirds 4-3. Jarlin Susana got the start for Fredericksburg, and the big right-hander was dominant. He spun four scoreless innings in front of 4600 fans, allowing just a pair of base hits by Delmarva.”

“Fredericksburg rewarded his effort in the home half of the fourth, as Sammy Infante singled and stole second base. Elijah Green reached on an E6 behind him. Then a double play allowed Infante to advance to third base. Murphy Stehly drove him in from there, on a double down the left field line.”

Fredericksburg Nationals: “The Fredericksburg winning streak died at eight games, in a 7-3 loss to the Delmarva Shorebirds.”

“The Nationals struck first on Friday night, in the bottom of the second inning. Murphy Stehly lined the first pitch of the frame back up the middle for a double, then later stole third base as Armando Cruz drew a walk. Cruz then stole second himself, and Stehly came home on a throwing error. Wilmer Perez then notched his first RBI with Fredericksburg on a booming double to drive Cruz in to make it 2-0. A wild pitch allowed Perez to reach third base, setting him up to score on a sacrifice fly to make it a 3-0 Nationals lead.”

Fredericksburg Nationals: “The FredNats walked off against the Shorebirds for the second time this week, in an eventful 8-7 victory.”

“Daylen Lile drew a leadoff walk in the bottom of the first, stole second base, and then scored the games’ first run on a Sammy Infante double. Infante later swiped third base, setting him up to score on a Paul Witt sacrifice fly to put Fredericksburg ahead 2-0.”

Fredericksburg Nationals: “The FredNats erupted for eight runs in the fifth inning, as they took down Delmarva 9-2. Just two pitches into the game, Delmarva took a 1-0 lead as Angel Tejada singled and Carter Young doubled against Riley Cornelio.”

“That score held until the top of the fourth inning, as Cornelio found his rhythm. The right-hander struck out the side in the second, and racked up two more in the third. But in the fourth, Stiven Acevedo singled and stole second base, before taking third on a wild pitch. Erison Placencia drove Acevedo in with a double, but Cornelio limited the damage there.”

“In game one, which was a resumption from an April game that was suspended due to rain, the two clubs took the field in the bottom of the second inning with Delmarva ahead 2-1. Brad Lord held the score there, until the top of the fifth inning. Carter Young and Angel Tejada both singled, then Samuel Basallo got plunked to load the bases. Lord struck out a pair of batters to get two outs, but Erison Placencia singled into right field to plate Young and push Delmarva ahead 3-1.”

“But in the home half, Fredericksburg bounced back. Paul Witt drew a lead-off walk, before Cortland Lawson plated Witt with a triple. Daylen Lile then came through with a sacrifice fly to tie the game at 3-3.”

Fredericksburg Nationals: “Fredericksburg secured their fourth straight win over the Salem Red Sox this week with a 9-2 victory on Saturday night.”

“The Red Sox plated the first run of the game with a two-out rally in the bottom of the second. Ahbram Liendo drew a walk and stole second base, then Enderso Lira drove him in with an infield single to third base.”


Executive Vice President and General Manager Nick Hall will leave the Fredericksburg Nationals baseball team.

On April 15, 1947, Jackie Robinson took the field with the Brooklyn Dodgers, breaking the Major League Baseball color line.

Twelve theme nights are set to occur at Virginia Credit Union Stadium every Saturday night during the FredNats season. There will also be the home to six jersey auctions, appearances from a celebrity, and some popular children’s characters.

The first Saturday of the season will be centered around celebrating the start of the 2023 season. The opening Weekend at Virginia Credit Union Stadium will see the FredNats in action for the first time in 2023.
