Hollins University student Ashleigh Clyde has received a commendation resolution from the Virginia House of Delegates for a historic Speech and Debate win at her previous High School. The student, also the founder of the first Speech and Debate team at Hollins University, has been recognized for her achievement and contribution to the field.

The Manassas School Board will meet on Tuesday, March 14, to discuss the replacement of Jennie Dean Elementary School.

Stafford County’s Board of Supervisors voted to move the construction of Stafford County’s 18th elementary school to 2023 and delay rebuilding Hartwood Elementary School until 2027.
Stafford County Nutrition Services will work in collaboration with Giant Foods to supply families with groceries in anticipation of spring break. Distribution will take place at Colonial Forge High School from 3:30 to 6 p.m. on Friday, March 10. While all families are welcome to this event, supplies are limited.

Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R) announced the first thirteen approved planning grants to develop innovative lab schools in Virginia.
A Lab School is a public, nonsectarian, nonreligious school established by a public institution of higher education, public higher education center, institute, authority or other eligible institution of higher education. Lab Schools are designed to stimulate the development of innovative education programs for preschool through grade 12 students.
The pandemic consumed Lateef’s second term. The school division scrambled to help students and teachers adjust to online learning and then adjust to getting them back into school buildings as the pandemic waned.
