Prince William County real estate taxes for the first half of 2021 are due on July 15, 2021.

There are several convenient ways property owners may make payments, including by electronic check or credit card online at tax.pwcgov.org; by phone at 1-888-272-9829, jurisdiction code 1036; or by mail to PO BOX 1600, Merrifield, VA 22116. Payments must be postmarked by July 15, to avoid a late fee.


You can’t say Prince William County taxpayers don’t support the arts.

The Prince William County Police Department will participate in the annual National Night Out celebration this year on Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2021, and encourages County residents to lock their doors, turn on outdoor lights, and spend the evening outside with their neighbors as a symbol that they care about their neighborhoods.

National Night Out – coordinated by the Community Engagement Section of the Police Department in partnership with the Prince William Crime Prevention Council – creates healthy neighborhoods block by block by helping neighbors know one another, celebrate community, and take steps to make neighborhoods safer for all residents.

Something exploded in Prince William County, but authorities don’t exactly know what it was.

Yesterday evening at 8:05 PM units were dispatched to the 3000 block of Bridgeton Ct. (Lake Ridge) for a reported explosion in the area. On arrival, remnants of a possible explosion were located in an outdoor common area of the townhome development. An undetonated device located near the scene was made safe by the State Police.


A 17-year-old is dead after he was found shot to death today in Woodbridge. The deceased teen was found in a townhouse complex just off Minnieville Road.

Homicide Investigation – On July 12 at 11:01AM, officers responded to the 4700 block of Still Pl in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a shooting. When officers arrived, they located a male juvenile suffering from gunshot wounds.


It’s been 20 years in the making, but Catharpin Regional Park in Gainesville is being made into a community destination.

Recently, the county cut the ribbon on a new playground at the park, which includes playground equipment for those ages 2 to 12, four shaded searing areas, and a new picnic table. Some of the highlights of the new playset include built-in musical instruments and a spinning wave seat.
