In a sure sign of spring, the Easter Bunny returns to Potomac Mills mall today.
The regional shopping destination in Woodbridge says the furry friend will be hopping around the mall until April 8, 2023. During that time, he’ll pose for photos and will hold a private event for children with sensory issues.
Prince William County Public Schools approved a $1.5 billion Fiscal Year 2024 operating budget, which will take effect July 1, 2023.
The budget, dependent upon the Real Estate tax rate set by the Board of County Supervisors, is 7% larger than the previous year’s budget. Driving the higher numbers is an anticipated 1,800 more students than the previous year, 5% cost-of-living raises for teachers and substitutes, and new start-up costs for a new elementary school off Prince William Parkway in Woodbridge.
Shenandoah University’s Department of Intercollegiate Athletics announced Thursday that 139 SU student-athletes are the inaugural inductees into its Pi chapter of the Chi Alpha Sigma national collegiate athlete honor society.

Daquan Artis Tinker is guilty of attempted aggravated murder, aggravated malicious wounding, two robbery charges, and four firearm use in the commission of a felony in a 2019 shooting and robbery in Woodbridge, the Prince William County Commonwealth Attorney’s Office states in a press release.

Robbery Investigation – On March 15 at 3:03PM, officers responded to the 7-Eleven located at 13304 Occoquan Rd. in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a robbery. The investigation revealed an unknown man, later identified as the accused, entered the store, and took bottles of alcohol off the shelf. As the accused approached the service counter, he threatened the employee before walking out of the store with the unpaid bottles. As officers were responding to the store, they observed the accused walking on Occoquan Rd. and detained him. While investigating the incident, officers determined earlier in the day, the accused had robbed the store in a similar manner. At no time during the encounter, did the accused have any physical contact with the employee. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Jarelle Rashod LITTLES, was arrested.

The popular event raises funds that allow the non-profit to help sick children and their families.

Hollins University student Ashleigh Clyde has received a commendation resolution from the Virginia House of Delegates for a historic Speech and Debate win at her previous High School. The student, also the founder of the first Speech and Debate team at Hollins University, has been recognized for her achievement and contribution to the field.
The National Park Service plans to conduct a prescribed fire in Prince William Forest Park this month, potentially as early as March 16, depending on weather conditions. The planned fire will cover approximately 105 acres of forested areas along Scenic Drive near the Oak Ridge Campground.
This fire aims to restore ecological processes in the park and reduce hazardous fuels.
