Prince William Public Libraries: “Prince William Public Libraries will temporarily close Lake Ridge Library beginning November 20 for renovations.

Virginia State Police: “At 5:08 a.m. Sunday (Nov. 19, 2023), Virginia State Police responded to a two-vehicle crash in Prince William County. A tractor-trailer and an Infiniti collided in the southbound lanes of I-95 at the 156-mile marker. The tractor-trailer struck the pillar supporting the flyover ramp, which caused the trailer to rip open and lose its contents.”
“While the driver of the sedan was being treated by EMS at the scene, he left the ambulance and fled the scene on foot. State police is continuing its efforts to locate the driver. Prince William County Government: “PWC government offices, including courts and Prince William Public Libraries, will be closed Nov. 23 and Nov. 24 in observance of Thanksgiving. Prince William County Public Schools: “There is no school for students on Wednesday, November 22. All PWCS schools and offices will be closed on Thursday, November 23, and Friday, November 24 in observance of Thanksgiving.”

Occoquan Mayor Earnie Porta: “Saturday, November 18, the town will host two dedications. First, at 3:00 p.m., town officials will cut the ribbon for the new welcome mural at the Route 123 entrance to town. This work, by artist Alethea Marie Robinson and commissioned by the Town Council, was selected from a number of wonderful submissions.”
“Then, at 3:30 p.m., town officials will cut the ribbon for the official naming of the island under the Route 123 bridge. For a period of approximately one year the island will be known and signed as ‘Heron’s Haven’, the name submitted by Tom and Mary Craig during the town’s island naming contest held last June during Riverfest. “Toys for Tots is a national charity program run by the United States Marine Corps Reserve. Toys are collected and distributed to less fortunate children whose parents may be struggling financially and unable to purchase gifts during the traditional Christmas Holiday Season.”
