The man shot and killed outside Manassas is Dalton Jakob Moore, 25, of no fixed address.

Somone shot Moore at 8:30 p.m. Saturday, August 19, in the area of Sudley Manor Drive and Williamson Boulevard. Moore and two others were sitting on a sidewalk in front of a 7-Eleven store when a man walked up to them from behind the building.

On Wednesday, August 24, at 11:59 a.m., deputies responded to 518 Shelton Shop Road for reports of a three-vehicle crash.

The investigation revealed a Chevy Malibu traveling north swerved across a double yellow line and sideswiped a Ford truck. The Chevy then struck a southbound Infinity SUV head-on.

Prince William County fire crews went to a home in the 13000 block of Langstone Drive in Dale City for a reported house fire at 1:07 a.m. Crews arrived with heavy fire and smoke emitting from the rear of the home, said fire department Assistant Chief Matt Smolksy.

One of the home’s occupants found the fire and alerted the others. All made it out, and no one was injured. The house sustained extensive damage.

A first for the area, OmniRide will implement a new local bus service on Sundays.

Buses will travel along the Woodbridge/Lake Ridge, Dale City, Dumfries, Route 1 routes, and Prince William Metro Express between Woodbridge and the Franconia-Springfield Metro station.

Manassas School Board members unanimously voted to purchase 8700 Centreville Road, a building in which it rents space for central office employees. The school division wants to buy the 55,000-square-foot building for $10.8 million.

The move throws a plan to move into the city’s police station at 9518 Fairview Avenue. Police will vacate the space for a new public safety center early next year.

J.T. Arruda had three hits, five RBIs and finished a home run short of the cycle, and the FredNats cruised to a 7-1 win over the Down East Wood Ducks.

Jarlin Susana started for the FredNats in his Single-A debut, and the electric 18-year-old pitcher that came over from San Diego in the Juan Soto trade did not disappoint. Susana hit 103 MPH on the radar guy numerous times, and ended up pitching three innings, allowing six hits, one earned run, one walk and three strikeouts. He threw 68 pitches and 44 strikes.
