On January 20, 2023, at 7:45 p.m., Manassas police responded to Roger’s Service Station in the 9600 block of Grant Avenue, where callers reported a man wearing a Virginia State Trooper hat and claimed to be a state trooper.

According to police, he harassed several patrons and employees.

Prince William County Public Schools student talent was displayed at the annual Martin Luther King Jr. (MLK) Youth Oratorical Competition, and Program held virtually on January 16, 2023.

The event is held each year on the MLK holiday in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Sponsored by the Prince William County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. (PWCAC-DST), the student speeches are one component of the celebration, now in its 38th year. The MLK Community Choir, made up of students in grades K-12, added thematic musical selections for the program.

Barbara R. Kahrer, 85, of Woodbridge, Va., formerly of New Castle, Penn. passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2023.

Barbara was born on January 19, 1937, in New Castle, Penn. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Zarilla) Quarella. She was of Roman Catholic Faith.

Some Prince William County residents in the Dale City area are learning about a new natural gas pipeline that could be laid near their homes.

According to project documents, New York-based Opal Fuels is considering laying a seven-mile pipeline from the county’s landfill on Route 234 along a powerline easement that cuts through the Hillendale, Mapledale, and Princedale neighborhoods in Dale City, to the county government center at 1 County Complex Court, off Prince William Parkway in Woodbridge.
