Ribbon cuttings for new recreation equipment were recently held along the Rappahannock River Heritage Trail and in Memorial Park, thanks to the generosity of local organizations, businesses, and individuals.

New outdoor fitness equipment is now available along the Heritage Trail. This trailside fitness gym includes five stations designed to help with strength, flexibility, core, balance, and agility.

Police are still looking for the driver who struck the man at Route 28 and Orchard Bridge Road near Manassas.

Fatal Hit & Run Crash Investigation *UPDATE – On May 9, crash investigators received information that the man possibly struck by a hit & run driver in the area of Orchard Bridge Dr. and Centreville Rd. in Manassas (20111) on April 20, died. Through the investigation the man was ultimately identified as a 61-year-old Manassas resident who remained hospitalized until succumbing to his injuries believed to have been sustained after being struck by an unknown vehicle. No striking vehicle or its driver have been located or identified in this investigation. Investigators with the Crash Investigation Unit are asking anyone who may have witnessed this crash to contact police.

Prince William

Work is underway at Potomac Shores to build a new four-level, 400-space parking garage.

During a groundbreaking event Monday, May 8, 2023, a spokesman for Potomac Shores developer Biddle Real Estate Ventures said the garage will open in Fall 2024, with the train station construction occurring at the time of opening or beginning shortly after that. The structure will be a precursor to a new Virginia Railway Express station to be built next to the garage.
