The players returned to Riverside Center for the Performing Arts to present “42nd Street,” a story about a girl who moves from a small town to New York City to find fame on Broadway.

Riverside’s production of the high-energy show stars Andrea McArdle as Dorothy Brock, the seasoned star hired to make the fictitious show in the play, “Pretty Lady,” a hit. The iconic McArdle has appeared in several Broadway plays, including her heart-winning performance in the title role of “Annie” in 1977, a major musical based on the comic strip “Little Orphan Annie.”

Press release: “Jaylen Custis, a 19-year-old African American candidate for School Board in the Woodbridge District announced today he had switched parties and gained the Prince William County Republican Committee endorsement for School Board.”

“Earlier this year, Custis spoke unknowingly to a conservative women’s group and because of his actions, was told by Democrats he could not even seek the Democratic nomination.

Stafford County Sheriff’s Office: “LARCENY: ABC, 1630 Publix Way, 7/23, 1:19 p.m. Deputy A.J. Layug responded to a report of Jose missing. “Staff advised a male came into the store and stole a bottle of Jose Cuervo Silver. Jim Beam did not see the larceny occur.”

LARCENY:Wawa, 15 Eustace Road, 7/23, 11:44 p.m. Deputy C.C. Crossett responded to even more alcohol being stolen. Staff advised a male stole approximately $50 worth of beer. Deputy Crossett’s amazing memory was on full display as he watched camera footage and recognized the suspect from a previous arrest. Warrants have not yet been obtained.”

Fox News: “A paddleboarder who drowned near former President Barack Obama’s Martha’s Vineyard estate has been identified as Tafari Campbell, the Obamas’ personal chef.”

“Campbell, 45, of Dumfries, Virginia, was recovered Monday morning a day after disappearing in the waters of Edgartown Great Pond on Martha’s Vineyard.”
