Fredericksburg

Firefighters from Fredericksburg and neighboring counties battled a commercial fire Monday morning on Princess Anne Street. The blaze damaged five garage bays and sent thick smoke into the air behind the old Coca-Cola building.

Crews arrived just after 10 a.m. and found flames coming from two garage units. They quickly deployed hose lines and cut into the roof to help control the fire. A dog was rescued from the scene, and no injuries were reported.

Manassas Park

Drivers in Manassas Park know the spot: the railroad crossing on Manassas Drive, where the warning arms sometimes drop and stay down long after the train has passed. The glitch has been causing backups — and frustration — for years.

Each ornament costs $30, with proceeds supporting Fredericksburg Main Street’s programs, events, and downtown beautification projects. The ornaments are available for local pickup at the Visitor Center, shipping, or in person this Saturday at the Fredericksburg Tree Lighting — while supplies last.

Manassas

“A cyber security incident is impacting MCPS operations,” Manassas City School Board Member Sara Brescia announced. “There will be NO SCHOOL tomorrow, Monday November 10th. Tuesday November 11th is a scheduled holiday. Students should prepare to return to class on Wednesday November 12th unless informed otherwise.”

The closure affects all Manassas City Public Schools on Monday and Tuesday, November 10 and 11, 2025. While the division had already planned to close on Veterans Day, officials cited a cybersecurity issue as the reason for the additional day off. No official statement has yet been released by the school division.

Politics

“There was a blue wave of some dimension, even after you factor in the Republican vote drop,” Cardinal News reported. “Spanberger increased the Democratic vote 20% over what it was four years ago, when it was already at a record high, but the Republican vote for governor declined by 13.7%.”
