At about 10 o’clock tonight, I-66 East will be closed with two-way traffic running on I-66 West so that crews can safely install bridge beams over the eastbound lanes. This work is part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.
The ramp from Route 234 Business North and South to I-66 East will also be closed both nights with detours posted.
[Updated 11:30 a.m. March 16] Elva Clarene Ritenour, 88, of Nokesville, died in a fire at her home on Tuesday, March 15.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. The victim was transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy to determine the cause of death. The investigation is ongoing.

(The Center Square) – Legislation that would allow public sector workers to speak against policy proposals in public hearings passed both chambers of the Virginia General Assembly and will be sent to Gov. Glenn Youngkin’s desk.
House Bill 384, sponsored by Del. Glenn Davis, R-Virginia Beach, passed with bipartisan support: 72-27 in the House and 26-14 in the Senate. The governor is expected to sign the legislation.
First-term Councilman Darryl Moore is petitioning the Governing Body tonight to allow the pride flags to be flown outside city hall, the police station, and other municipal buildings.
The city’s Governing Body will hear the request and is expected to take a vote on the proposal during its meeting at 7 o’clock at City Hall, One Park Center Court.
