A Manassas man was arrested after attempting to elude Virginia State Police and crashing into a Stafford County deputy and several other cars in North Stafford, police said.
On Sunday, June 19 at 7:05 p.m. deputies received a “be on the lookout” from Virginia State Police for a black Nissan Sentra. A trooper had stopped the Nissan on Truslow Road near U.S. 1 for reckless driving, and the suspect fled the traffic stop northbound on U.S. 1 eluding the trooper.
Crews arrived on the scene and discovered fire showing to the rear of the home, spreading up into the attic. No injuries were reported.
The home sustained extensive damage and was posted unsafe to occupy by the Building Official. The Red Cross assisted the two adults and three children displaced.

The Fredericksburg Nationals won an extra-inning thriller for the second time in as many games Tuesday at Carillion Clinic Field. Vandel Pena scored the winning run on a wild pitch in the tenth inning to help the FredNats to an 8-7 victory.
The win comes at a critical time for the FredNats, who gained a game on Salem, Lynchburg and division-leading Carolina. The FredNats, Red Sox and Hillcats are now all tied for second in the Carolina League North. All three teams are one game behind the Mudcats with two games to go in the first half. The Workhouse Arts Center has announced that its annual fireworks celebration is returning on July 2, 2022.
This year’s event will include a special performance by the renowned musical performer Mark G. Meadows who will celebrate the music of Stevie Wonder in a musical performance entitled A Night of Wonder. The concert will occur before the fireworks display and will present classic Stevie Wonder songs like “Sir Duke,” “For Once in my Life,” “Superstition,” and more.
