Stafford County leaders may have two new school sites when they need them most.
The school system projects an increase of 6,000 students in the next 10 years and called for a minimum of six new buildings to meet the projected capacity requirements.

Updated 8:30 p.m. — Prince William County police detectives have identified an adult male as a person of interest in the shooting that occurred at a home in the 5200 block of Mansfield Court in Dale City earlier this afternoon around 4:32 p.m.
Police said the man is speaking to investigators but no charges have been placed.
Police are investigating two shootings into homes in the Woodbridge area.
On Sunday, October 16 at 5:21 a.m., officers responded to a residence located in the 6300 block of Oakland Court in Dale City. The investigation revealed residents of the home woke to gunfire and contacted police.
A former Culpeper County voter registrar is opening up about her recent indictment in Prince William County for alleged misconduct in the 2020 election, and defending herself. Michele White, Prince William’s elections director from 2015 to 2021, said in a phone interview Friday with the Culpeper Star-Exponent that she is not sure what is going on, referencing “ambiguous” charges against her. She called the indictment “very politically motivated.”
