The theme of the meeting is Partners in Equity and Inclusion. The goal is to extend an invitation to community leaders who work with underrepresented communities to learn the needs of the community, distribute information on government services and events, and expand opportunities to collaborate in partnership with community events, according to a county press release.

Participants are asked to register to attend before 6:30 p.m. The virtual meeting will begin at 7 p.m.


The work will close a southbound highway portion at milepost 136, Centreport Parkway near the Stafford Regional Airport. Crews will raise new steel beams into place at milepost 133, Route 17 near Falmouth, as part of the effort to extend the E-ZPass Express Lanes south from Route 610 in Garrisonville.

According to the Virginia Department of Transportation, inclement weather postponed the work to begin Monday, March 7.


The amount of crime is rising in Manassas.

Police Chief Douglas Keen presented his department’s annual report to the City Council on Monday, February 28, which shows violent crime increased nine percent in 2021. For every 1,000 residents, 20 crimes are reported. That’s up from 19 a year ago.


Several fine and performing arts organizations are about to get some needed cash infusions in the form of general operating grants.

In July, the Prince William County Government awarded $193,000 of county taxpayer funds as grants to the Prince William Arts Council. In turn, the non-profit organization will dole out funds to organizations that applied for the funding.


The Stafford County Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing on March 15 to consider changes to the county’s magisterial districts.

Those changes would involve adopting new election districts and precinct boundaries and new polling places. A county redistricting committee developed the option, which will be presented at the hearing and the board’s redistricting work session held this past February.

Virginia National Ballet is finishing the its 9th season with the revival of the very popular ballet Snow White, which the ballet performed in 2017 at the Hylton Performing Arts Center.

Virginia National Ballet was scheduled to present Snow White in early 2020, both at the Historic Palace Theater in Cape Charles, Va. and the Hylton Performing Arts Center near Manassas. both productions had to be canceled due to the pandemic.


Stafford County Tourism will apply for a $160,000 grant from the Virginia Tourism Authority to help the county draw more visitors.
