Virginia State Police: “Virginia State Police is investigating a two-vehicle fatal crash in Stafford County. The crash occurred on Monday (June 26), at 7:53 a.m. along Interstate 95 at the 134-mile marker in the local lanes.”

“A 2011 BMW sedan was traveling south on I-95 in the left lane at a slow rate of speed when it made an abrupt lane change to the right lane. A southbound 2013 Chrysler sedan was unable to avoid a collision and rear-ended the BMW. The impact caused the BMW to collide with the Jersey wall.”

Rep. Abigail Spanberger: “U.S. Representative Abigail Spanberger (D- Prince William, Stafford) today announced $1,481,489,572.87 in federal funding for Virginia broadband internet projects through the bipartisan infrastructure law’s Broadband Equality, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) program.”

“Through the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, Spanberger negotiated and voted to pass the creation of the $42.45 billion BEAD program within the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA). These investments will help make sure that state and local governments can connect more Americans with the reliable high-speed internet access they need — including through supporting planning, deployment, and adoption efforts.”

Northern Virginia Transportation Commission: “The Commonwealth Transportation Board approved 13 projects that will provide nearly $48 million in funding for Arlington County, DASH, Fairfax Connector, Fairfax County, OmniRide, and Virginia Railway Express. The projects are part of the Northern Virginia Transportation Commission’s I-395/95 Commuter Choice program, which uses revenue from tolls to support efforts to reduce traffic congestion.”

Stafford County Sheriff’s Office: “On Monday, June 26th at 2:55 a.m. First Sergeant M.R. Flick attempted to stop an eastbound Chevy Malibu speeding in the 500 block of Garrisonville Road. The Chevy was also being operated without headlights.”

“Instead of stopping, the Chevy driver initiated a two-and-a-half-mile pursuit through North Stafford. The suspect continued eastbound on Garrisonville Road to the Wawa at 105 Garrisonville Road. He drove behind the business, through a hotel parking lot and exited onto Greenspring Drive.”
