Lateefah Pruden Inducted into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi

Lateefah Pruden of Manassas Park, Virginia, was recently initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society. Pruden was initiated at George Mason University. Pruden is among 25,000 students, faculty, professional staff, and alumni to be initiated into Phi Kappa Phi each year.

The Stafford Education Foundation hosted the second annual “An Evening with the Stafford Stars” spring gala on Friday, May 13, 2022.

The event showcased fine and performing arts student talent from across Stafford County schools from Pre-K to 12th grade.

A student brought a gun to school in Fredericksburg.

At 7:40 a.m., police went to Walker Grant Middle School, 1 Learning Lane, for a report of a 15-year-old student who had been previously suspended and a student who trespassed onto school property.

Brady House picked up a pair of RBIs, but the FredNats fell for a third straight time at Delmarva (Salisbury, Md.) Thursday by a final of 4-3. The team will look to get on track with RHP Jackson Rutledge on the mound tomorrow at 7:05.

The Shorebirds got to starter Rodney Theophile (3-1) for four runs (four earned) with two outs in the first. Theophile settled down though after, facing just one over the minimum in the next four innings. Pedro Gonzalez and Jack Sinclair finished the game with a combined three scoreless frames on the mound.

At 7:53 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, Prince William County fire and rescue crews were dispatched to the 18000 block of Crossroads Court in Triangle, near Triangle Elementary School.

Occupants reported their home was on fire.  Crews arrived to find a working fire and helped the occupant’s safety. No injuries were reported.

The Stafford County Fire and Rescue Department has a new member. Lincoln, an ignitable liquid detection canine, is now on active duty.

Lincoln is a two-and-a-half-year-old yellow lab partnered with Deputy Fire Marshal Dan Pappas. The team just completed a month of training in New Hampshire to become certified. The dogs help law enforcement collect evidence that may be used to prosecute an arsonist.
