Town Mayor Earnie Porta tells us the town staff uncovered meeting minutes dating back about 90 years to the early 1930s. Porta says some meetings were held inside shops and inside people’s homes.

The traffic signals on Route 610 in North Stafford are talking to each other better now, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

VDOT recently completed a project to upgrade traffic signal communications and timing along the Route 610 (Garrisonville Road) corridor in North Stafford.

At 7:39 p.m. Thursday, August 25, firefighters were dispatched to the 8000 block of Erika Drive, near Colgan High School, for a house fire.  Crews arrived with heavy fire and smoke showing from an attached garage.

A neighbor saw smoke and called 911. The home’s occupants were not there when flames broke out, said Prince William fire and rescue Assistant Chief Matt Smolsky.

The man shot and killed outside Manassas is Dalton Jakob Moore, 25, of no fixed address.

Somone shot Moore at 8:30 p.m. Saturday, August 19, in the area of Sudley Manor Drive and Williamson Boulevard. Moore and two others were sitting on a sidewalk in front of a 7-Eleven store when a man walked up to them from behind the building.

On Wednesday, August 24, at 11:59 a.m., deputies responded to 518 Shelton Shop Road for reports of a three-vehicle crash.

The investigation revealed a Chevy Malibu traveling north swerved across a double yellow line and sideswiped a Ford truck. The Chevy then struck a southbound Infinity SUV head-on.
