The Prince William County School Board will build a new elementary school to ease overcrowding in Woodbridge.

The new school will be built within the next two years and will sit next to Fred M. Lynn Middle School at 1650 Prince William Parkway in Woodbridge. Attorneys for the school division worked with the owners of three parcels of land in the area, cobbing together about acres on which to build the school.

The fourth and final in a series of town hall meetings on the Stafford County Public Schools Capital Improvement needs is tomorrow, Thursday, September 8 at 7 p.m.

School Board members Patricia Healy (Rockhill) and Maureen Siegmund (Garrisonville) will host the discussion at North Stafford High School, 839 Garrisonville Road in North Stafford.

The Prince William County Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on the controversial Prince William Digital Gateway project.

The project aims to convert open space next to the Manassas National Battlefield into data centers. Three applicants have filed rezoning applications for the area, which would rezone more than 800 acres from agricultural and estate land to an area zoned for technology/flex space.

After five years of construction, Prince William County residents will get to tour their new animal shelter.

The Prince William Board of County Supervisors and the Prince William County Police Department will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the building’s grand opening. The center, called the new Animal Services Center, sits at 14807 Bristow Road near Manassas.
