I-95 Northbound: Exit 130 (Route 3) to Exit 136 (Centreport Parkway): Monday – Friday, 10 p.m. – 5 a.m. I-95 northbound will be reduced to one lane each evening between the interchanges for construction with I-95 Northbound Rappahannock River Crossing project and the 95 Express Lanes Fredericksburg Extension project.

I-95 Southbound: Exit 148 (Quantico): Wednesday?–Thursday,?9 p.m. – 4:30 a.m. Single lane closure at 9 p.m. followed by double lane closures at mile markers 149-147 for 95 Express Lanes Fredericksburg Extension work.

Prince William Police Department: Shooting Investigation *ARRESTS – On November 8, both suspects sought in connection to the shooting that was reported to have occurred in the 7200 block of Sudley Road in Manassas on November 3, were arrested. While investigating the incident, detectives identified the suspects as Jabari Antwaun ALLEN and Jamal Dana ALLEN. On November 8, following the investigation, detectives obtained arrest warrants

for both accused, who were located at their residence and taken into custody without incident. Arrested on November 8: Jamal Dana ALLEN, 18, of 11053 Camfield Court in Manassas. Jabari Antwaun ALLEN, 19, of 11053 Camfield Court in Manassas. Both charged with robbery, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, and aggravated malicious wounding. Court Date: Pending | Bond: Held WITHOUT Bond.”

Prince William Police Department: Stabbing Investigation – On October 1 at 8:38 p.m., officers responded to investigate a stabbing that was reported to have occurred at Veterans Park located at 14300 Veterans Drive in Woodbridge earlier that evening. The investigation revealed the victim, a 29-year-old man, was playing soccer on a field with several other men, when a man from the opposing team retrieved a box-cutter style knife and cut the victim. A physical altercation ensued between the two teams before the groups separated. The victim left the fields and sought treatment at an area hospital for a non-life threatening injury where police were contacted. The suspect was described as a Hispanic male with black curly hair, approximately 5’4, and a thin build.”

Indecent Exposure – On September 29 at 9:40 p.m., officers responded to the 16200 block of Navigation Drive in Woodbridge to investigate an indecent exposure. The investigation revealed the victim, a 55-year-old woman, was walking her dog near a picnic area when she observed an unknown man exposing himself. The suspect briefly followed the victim while continuing to expose himself. No physical contact occurred. The suspect was described as a black male, approximately 5’11, wearing a hooded sweatshirt and jeans.”

Prince William Police Department: Shooting Investigation *SUSPECT IDENTIFIED – On October 26, detectives identified the suspect sought in connection to the shooting that was reported to have occurred outside of a residence located in the 14500 block of Earlham Court in Woodbridge on October 16. While investigating the incident, detectives identified the suspect as Michael Carlos DUNCAN, and following the investigation, obtained warrants for his arrest. Attempts to locate the accused have been unsuccessful. Wanted: [No Photo Available] Michael Carlos DUNCAN, 43, of the 14700 block of Candlewood Court in Woodbridge. Described as a black male, approximately 5’6, 200lbs., with black hair and brown eyes. Wanted for abduction, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and aggravated malicious wounding.”

Shooting Investigation [Previously Released] – On October 16 at 7:13 p.m., officers responded to a residence located in the 14500 block of Earlham Court in Woodbridge to investigate a shooting. The investigation revealed the victim, a 39-year-old man, was speaking to the occupants of a white Kia Soul in front of the residence, when an altercation ensued. During the encounter, a male passenger in the vehicle fired a handgun towards the victim, striking him once in the lower body. The victim retreated to the home and fired his own weapon multiple towards the vehicle. The female driver of the vehicle was known to the victim from a previous relationship. The victim was treated at an area hospital for his non-life threatening injury. No other injuries or property damage were reported. This incident was not random. Detectives are actively following-up on leads regarding the identity of the shooter. The investigation continues.”

Press Release:The Aquia Harbour Host Lions were out supporting the Household Hazardous Waste Day collecting all the electrical and electronic waste. 3,905lbs of electronic in addition to hundreds of cell phones, laptops, and ink cartridges, were able to be recycled by the Lions.”

“The students from Brooke Point High School Vstar were on hand to work with the Lions, disabling items while identifying multiple desktop computers and monitors that they will be able to wipe and refurbish to provide to people in our area who cannot afford a home computer.”

Prince William Police Department:Attempted Malicious Wounding on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] *ARREST – On October 25, the suspect sought in connection to the attempted assaults on LEO that were reported to have occurred in the 16700 block of Interstate Drive in Dumfries on July 1, was arrested. The accused, identified as McKayla Nicole STRAIT, was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force in Raliegh, North Carolina where she will remain until extradited to Prince William County.

Arrested on October 24: [No Photo Available] McKayla Nicole STRAIT, 19, of 3001 Frankfurt Court in Woodbridge. Charged with 3 counts of attempted malicious wounding on a LEO and 1 count of attempted malicious wounding. Court Date: Pending | Status: Incarcerated.”

Armed Robbery – On October 23 at 3:04 p.m., officers responded to investigate a robbery that was reported to have occurred in the 2900 block of the Prince William Parkway in Woodbridge on October 22 at approximately 5:30 p.m. The investigation revealed the victim, a 42-year-old woman, was parked in the parking lot in the above area when an unknown man approached her vehicle. During the encounter, the man brandished a firearm and demanded the victim’s jewelry before fleeing on foot. The victim left the area and eventually contacted the police. No shots were fired, and no injuries were reported. The suspect was described as wearing all black clothing.”

Commercial Burglary – On October 23 at 8:53 a.m., officers responded to Vienna Glass Company located at 7873 Coppermine Drive in Manassas to investigate a burglary. The investigation revealed sometime between 4:50 p.m. on October 20 and 7:30 a.m. on October 23, entry was made into the business through a window that was found damaged. An undisclosed amount of money and office supplies were reported missing.”


Obituaries

On October 9, 2023, Virginia Ann McEwan Kubiak, affectionately known as Ginny, peacefully left this world with her devoted husband, Rick, and cherished daughter, Alison, enveloping her in their loving embrace within the comforting confines of her home in Berlin, MD. Her passing marked the end of a courageous fight against ovarian cancer.

Ginny’s journey began in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, surrounded by the affection of her parents, Virginia and Joseph McEwan. She is survived by her cherished siblings Beverly Head (Steve) from Raleigh, NC, and Charles McEwan (Judy) from Austin, TX. In addition to her siblings, she leaves behind nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart: Stephanie Hall (TC) from Raleigh, NC, Elizabeth Wood (Randy) from Gulf Shores, AL, Joe McEwan (Jennifer) from Austin, TX, and Trent McEwan (Stephanie) from Alpharetta, GA. Ginny also leaves behind a wide circle of cousins and very dear friends who will forever cherish her memory in their hearts.
