“With National Teen Driver Safety Week taking place Oct. 19-25, I-66 Express Mobility Partners (I-66 EMP), the builder and operator of the 66 Express Outside the Beltway, is supporting DRIVE SMART Virginia with a $20,000 donation as the advocacy non-profit stages a series of ThinkFast Interactive assemblies at four Northern Virginia high schools,” Ride 66 Express announced.

“According to Virginia State Police, October is statistically the most dangerous month for all crash fatalities on Virginia’s roads, including crashes involving young, inexperienced drivers.”

“Manassas City Public Schools (MCPS) is pleased to announce a new initiative to provide mental health support to all students,” Manassas City Public Schools announced. “The division has been selected as a recipient of a telehealth grant from the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS).”

The telehealth grant will allow MCPS to expand access to mental health services through digital platforms, ensuring that students receive timely and confidential care. The initiative aligns with statewide efforts to increase behavioral health resources in schools across Virginia.

Fredericksburg EDA backs new workshop series to boost small businesses

The Fredericksburg Economic Development Authority voted Monday to fund a new series of workshops and networking events aimed at helping local small businesses grow, collaborate, and strengthen the city’s entrepreneurial community.

The EDA approved $5,000 to launch the initiative, which will include two quarterly programs — a Business Strategy and Skills Series and a Business Core Networking Series. Both are designed to give Fredericksburg business owners a space to learn practical skills, share ideas, and connect with one another.
