Here’s a full list of schedule changes. The biggest on the list — OmniRide Express buses in Prince Willliam and Stafford counties, with service to Washington, D.C. — will not operate today due to an “extreme” shortage of drivers.

We asked Victor Angry, chairman of the Potomac and Rappahannock Transportation Commission, which oversees the operation of OmniRide and Virginia Railway Express trains, about the strike.

Work is underway to get the northbound and southbound Interstate 95 general-purpose lanes bridges over Powells Creek to improve safety and extend the overall life of the bridges, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

The bridges, located around mile marker 155 between the Dale City Truck-Only Safety Rest Areas and Cardinal Drive, were originally built in 1963, repaired in 1976, and widened in 1981 and 1996.

The Virginia Department of Transportation closed the Interstate 95 northbound off-ramp at the exit 136, at Centerport Parkway in Stafford County to assist emergency responders with a tractor-trailer fire.

The I-95 northbound off-ramp at exit 136 is expected to be closed for several hours.

Ridership on OmniRide’s local and express busses is up.
