WOODBRIDGE, Va. – Police are searching for a woman accused of leaving her 2-year-old son unattended outside a home on Dawson Beach Road. Officers responded to the home around 9:17 p.m. on July 23 after a child was found alone and in poor condition. Authorities say the boy’s mother, 37-year-old Alexandra Anna Granruth, had arranged for someone to look after the child earlier that afternoon but never returned.

When police tried to contact Granruth, she allegedly refused to come back. The child was not injured and was released to known parties. Warrants have been issued for Granruth, who is now wanted for felony child neglect.


Prince William

WOODBRIDGE, Va. – A 22-year-old man has been charged with felony homicide following the death of his 4-month-old son, authorities announced Wednesday.

Prince William County police say Gianni Romero-Coreas, of the 14300 block of Jeffries Road in Woodbridge, just off  Route 1, was arrested July 24 by the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force in Manassas. He is being held without bond.


Stafford

STAFFORD, Va. – A Stafford County woman is charged with second-degree murder after deputies say she shot and killed her ex-boyfriend at a home on Rocky Run Road. This is the second homicide in Stafford County this week, and the second time authorities have withheld the victim’s name, following a separate deadly shooting in an England Run apartment earlier this week.

Stafford

STAFFORD, Va. – Two teenagers are in custody, charged with murder after a 19-year-old man was shot and killed Tuesday night at the England Run Apartments in South Stafford.

The shooting happened around 10:56 p.m. on July 15. Deputies responded to multiple 911 calls reporting gunfire and found the victim with apparent gunshot wounds. First Sergeant M.L. Jacobeen, Deputy M.A. Holub, and Deputy S.M. Kotter provided emergency aid until medics arrived, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released out of respect for his family, the sheriff’s office wrote.


Manassas

MANASSAS, Va. – Manassas City Police are investigating an early morning shooting that left two juveniles injured.

Just after 1:15 a.m. Saturday, July 12, 2025, officers responded to the 8600 block of Phoenix Drive for reports of gunfire. When they arrived, they found two juveniles suffering from gunshot wounds.

11 a.m. Friday, July 28, 2025 update – Prince William County police have identified the man who died during an officer-involved shooting on July 17 near Garza Way and Potomac Mills Circle in Woodbridge as Harrison Charles Deppe, 52, of Woodbridge. The investigation remains active and is being led by the Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT). More information will be released as it becomes available.

Breaking News

According to a release from the Prince William County Police Department, officers executed around 14 search warrants early Tuesday, July 16, as part of their ongoing investigation into the April 13 shooting at Babylon Café, located at 3081 Golansky Boulevard in Woodbridge.

The investigation revealed that members of the Wheels of Soul motorcycle gang were involved in assaulting a 42-year-old man outside the café. Police say the man was forcibly removed from the business into the parking lot, where he was severely beaten. Shortly after, an acquaintance of the victim approached the group, leading to a shootout with more than 80 rounds fired.

GAINESVILLE, Va. – A Gainesville man is facing multiple charges after police say he sexually assaulted a juvenile girl sometime earlier this summer.

According to Prince William County Police, officers were called on July 10 to investigate a sexual assault that reportedly happened at a home on the 6700 block of Stapleton Place. The incident is believed to have occurred between June and July 2025.

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. – A decorated Prince William County police officer known for his work in DUI enforcement has been arrested on charges of stalking and unlawfully accessing law enforcement databases.

Godson Vondee, 42, was taken into custody on July 9 following a month-long investigation launched by the Prince William County Police Department. Investigators say Vondee accessed the Virginia Criminal Information Network (VCIN) without authorization on five occasions—once in 2023 and four times in 2024—to obtain personal information about a man known to a woman he was acquainted with. Each incident allegedly occurred while Vondee was on duty and without a criminal justice purpose.

STAFFORD, Va. – Nearly 40 years after Jacqueline Lord was found murdered, a jury has found Elroy Harrison guilty of her killing.

Harrison, now 67, was convicted on June 26, 2025, in Stafford County Circuit Court. A jury found him guilty of second-degree murder, abduction with intent to defile, breaking and entering with the intent to commit murder, rape or robbery, and aggravated malicious wounding.
