Greetings, Prince William – The Human Services Alliance of Greater Prince William is excited to announce the American Recovery Plan Act (ARPA) Community Grant Program, supporting COVID-19 recovery efforts for Prince William County residents, focusing on those who are underserved.

The first cleanup of 2022 is scheduled for February 26, 10am-12pm.  Volunteers will meet at 7625 Aaron Lane, Manassas 20109. Volunteers age 16+ welcome, volunteers under 16 must volunteer with a responsible adult. Cleanup supplies provided.  You’ll feel great as you get out in the fresh air and help to beautify our community with family and friends!

Greetings, Prince William – You can help fight hunger! The Community Feeding Taskforce Food Helpline urgently needs Spanish-speaking volunteers who can answer calls to the Helpline on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

Greetings, Prince William – It’s About a Kid and a Toy!  Volunteer Prince William announces Untrim-a-Tree, our holiday program which provides gifts to thousands of our neighbors in the greater Prince William community.  You can help bring a brighter holiday season to local children and seniors!  Simply sponsor a child – each child receives two gifts, valued at not more than $50-$75 per child.  Donations of Senior Baskets will be given to homebound seniors throughout the community.  Baskets could include card games, crossword puzzles, hand cream, warm socks, lap throws or wraps.  Please call Jan at 571.292.5307 or email [email protected] to request a donor form.

No community within the Prince William area is immune to the havoc and devastation caused by a disaster, whethernatural or manmade.  Volunteer Prince William is recruiting volunteers for Disaster Response positions.  Trained volunteers can fill a critical role in disaster response and alleviate the challenge of spontaneous, untrained volunteers.  Volunteers are needed to help as Reception Center Staff and Public Outreach and Education, which includes educational games such as Disaster Jeopardy and Ready Bingo. Training is provided, and you’ll feel great as you help our local community rebuild following a disaster!  Please contact Claudia at [email protected] to learn how you can get involved.

Volunteers age 16+ are needed to help cheer walkers across the finish line and help clean up. Both ACTS and SERVE continue to have an Urgent need for Food Pickup Drivers, age 21+ to support their food assistance programs on weekends.  Volunteers drive to area grocery stores/restaurants to pick up food donations and deliver back to the appropriate warehouse.  Be prepared to lift boxes weighing 30 pounds or more.  Drivers for SERVE must commit to twice a month for at least 6 months.  Training is provided at both agencies.  This is a wonderful way to give back to the community, especially with the holidays approaching!  For ACTS, please email [email protected], for SERVE please email [email protected] for more information.
