STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. — A campaign mailer from Democrat Stacey Carroll accuses Republican incumbent Del. Paul Milde of having “turned his back” on women, veterans, and law enforcement. STAFFORD, Va. – Mountain View High School and Margaret Brent Elementary were placed on lockdown Friday morning after an alarm was triggered, according to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies say there’s a large police presence in the area out of an abundance of caution, but at this time, there’s no direct threat to either school. Parents who feel the need to respond are asked to go to Margaret Brent Elementary.

STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. – Drivers in Stafford County will soon pay more if their cars are towed from private property.

The Board of Supervisors on Sept. 16 unanimously approved an ordinance aligning county towing fees with a new state law that took effect July 1. The change raises the maximum charge for private-property towing from $135 to $210.
