It’s going to be hot enough outside on Wednesday for the Prince William County government to open cooling centers.
Prince William County offers resources to assist members of the public in staying cool when temperatures reach 95 degrees or higher. Tomorrow, Wednesday, June 30, due to the forecasted high temperature of 97 degrees, with heat index values anticipated to be as high as 102 degrees, any member of the public who needs to seek shelter from the heat can visit a Prince William County library from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Gov. Ralph Northam today marked the 50th anniversary of the state’s most current constitution, a document that outlines how liberty and justice for all Virignins should be delivered.
The state’s constitution was rewritten in 1971—the old document, which dated back to the early 1900s, disenfranchised blacks and prevented school integration.

Police in Prince William County is investigating a road rage incident that led to a firearm being brandished near a local high school.
The 24-year-old female victim was driving near Colgan High School on Monday afternoon, at the intersection of Route 234 and Hoadly Road near Dale City. A sedan began following her and driving aggressively around her. At one point, while the victim was stopped, the driver of the blue sedan pulled up and brandished a gun, police said.

Manassas Airport officials this month voted to make some key changes at Virginia’s largest municipal airfield.
First, the airport is working to shorten the list of pilots’ names on a list to rent hangar space at the airport. A total of 160 people are waiting for a covered space to store their planes at the airport as of June 16. On average, it’s a two to three-year wait, said Richard Allabaugh, airport spokesman.

The massive vaccination clinic in Woodbridge will close today, leaving many in Prince William County needed to travel to the Manassas area to get their coronavirus shot.
A vaccine clinic at the former Gander Mountain store, located at 14041 Worth Avenue, will close its doors for the last at 5:30 p.m. today. Since then, the clinic opened in March and, since then, the rate of those getting the coronavirus vaccine has fallen.

On June 17 at 6:15PM, officers responded to the Riverwood Apartments located in the 2700 block of Yosocomico Ln. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate an initial report of shots fired…a group of individuals… gunfire was exchanged with another group of individuals who were near the playground on Yosocomico Ln. Both groups dispersed following the gunshots… a round entered an occupied residence, grazing a 9-year-old girl.
