Home Deport Volunteers help put ceiling in Post 7916 Storeroom

Greetings, Prince William – The dedicated staff at Grace United Methodist Church needs volunteers to be Teachers and Helpers for their next session of English as a Second Language (ESL), April 4 thru June 8. Classes will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays, 7 pm-9 pm, at the church, 9750 Wellington Road, Manassas 20110. You’ll feel wonderful as you help learners improve their English reading, writing, and speaking skills! Please email [email protected] to learn how you can make a difference.

If you love animals and running, we have a terrific opportunity for you! The wonderful people at Advocates for Abused and Abandoned Pets need an experienced volunteer age 18+ to help coordinate, manage, and execute walk/run fundraisers. The goal is to host a 5K race in Prince William during the early fall. Occoquan announces their spring event is back for 2023. Peep Week in Occoquan takes place from April 4 to 8, 2023.

Peep week is an annual spring event in Occoquan that invites the community to participate in building a Peeps diorama. If you enter, you can win a $50 prize in your category, or you can vote for one made by a local Occoquan business.

Last-minute deal: County used $15 million to buy old Gander Mountain store

Prince William County taxpayers own the Incredible Universe building, most recently used as a Gander Mountain store.

Tom Gordy announced his candidacy for the open Brentsville District supervisor seat in Prince William County.

The Republican represents the Brentsville District on the Prince William County Planning Commission and Veterans Commission. He aims to replace Jeanine Lawson, who represented the district since 2014 and is now running to replace Ann Wheeler (D) as Prince William Board of Supervisors Chair At-large.

Judge dismissed charges for Prince William County teacher

On November 14, 2022, a judge dismissed charges for Robert Wilson Jr., 37, a teacher accused of having weapons inside his apartment, located at Covington Harper Elementary School near Dumfries.

A postal employee dropped a package addressed to the school at the neighbor’s house. The neighbor opened the package to find ammunition and took the package to the school.

Groundbreaking held for $54 million parking garage

A groundbreaking ceremony signaled the start of work on a $54 million, seven-story parking garage near Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center in Woodbridge.

The garage will sit in an area once earmarked for a Minor League Baseball stadium built eventually in Fredericksburg in 2019. The garage will serve as a transit hub in eastern Prince William County, replacing the nearby OmniRide transit center as a central bus transfer point.

Woodbridge woman still missing after 3 months

Authorities said there’s still no trace of a woman who went missing from Woodbridge in December 2022.

Amber Seats disappeared from a house in the 1200 block of Bell View Road, behind Marumsuco Plaza in Woodbridge on December 15. According to the Black and Missing Foundation, Inc., Seats had been talking with family in California in the days leading up to her disappearance.
