VDOT Northern Virginia: “Jackson Hollow Road (Route 680) between Waterfall Road (Route 601) and Simon Kenton Road (Route 1055) in Haymarket will be closed to through traffic, weather permitting, from 8 p.m. Friday, June 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 4 to replace a pipe culvert, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.”
“Those needing to reach properties along Jackson Hollow Road will have access; however, traffic will not be able to go beyond the point of pipe culvert replacement (between Babbling Brook Court and Simon Kenton Road) in either direction.”
“While investigating the incident, officers made contact with the neighbor, identified as the accused, and determined he fired multiple rounds from an air rifle which struck the neighboring residence. No injuries or additional property damage were reported.”
“Following the investigation, the accused, identified as James Raymond BROOKS Jr., was arrested. Arrested on May 30: [No Photo Available]. Raymond BROOKS Jr., 64, of 4403 Kentmore Dr. in Woodbridge Charged with shooting into an occupied dwelling Court Date: Pending | Bond: Unsecured Bond”
Prince William police: “Shooting into an Occupied Building *ARREST – On May 30, detectives concluded the investigation into the shooting that was reported to have occurred at the Babylon Café located at 3081 Golansky Blvd. in Woodbridge (22192) on March 24. While investigating the incident, detectives identified the shooter as the accused, Landry Joseph JOHNSON. Following the investigation, detectives obtained arrest warrants for the accused who was arrested in the Woodbridge area by the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force on May 30.”
“On March 24 at 12:22AM, officers responded to the Babylon Café located at 3081 Golansky Blvd. in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a shots fired call. The investigation revealed an altercation occurred inside the business before the involved parties exited to the parking lot. A short time later, while in the parking lot, one of the patrons involved in the earlier altercation, retrieved a firearm and fired multiple rounds, before fleeing in a white SUV. While checking the area, officers determined one of the rounds entered the front window of the business before lodging in one of the walls of the bar area. No injuries were reported.”
Prince William police: “On Wednesday, May 31, 2023, Police Chief Peter Newsham recognized several department members during a promotion ceremony. Since the last promotion ceremony, 23 sworn and professional staff members listed below have been promoted and were given the opportunity to be recognized by department leadership, their peers, and loved ones at today’s ceremony. The ceremony was held at Grace Life Community Church in Bristow. The Police Department takes great pride in supporting our members who have progressed in their careers and congratulates them on their achievements.”

Prince William County Government press release: “THE TRIBE BAND, billed on the band’s website as an “Old School/New School Party Band,” will bring an eclectic show to the Sean T. Connaughton Plaza at the McCoart Government Center on June 2 for the Fridays at 5 Concert series. The concert starts at 5 p.m.”
“Believe it or not, we started off as a gospel group. We kind of started adding Motown and R&B, soul, funk, some smooth jazz and GoGo to the repertoire,” said Larry Simpson, percussionist and founder of the band that includes drum, a saxophone, keyboards, bass and lead guitars, along with vocals. “We try to give them a little bit of everything.”
Prince William County Public Schools will hold a retirement ceremony for teachers.
“PWCS will recognize the many years of dedicated service by our retiring educators and staff,” states a press release.
