The Prince William County government will honor its veterans tomorrow, Thursday, November 10, 2022, in Woodbridge.

The county will hold a ceremony at its Liberty Memorial fountain at the county government center, 1 County Complex Court, just off Prince William Parkway. Board of Supervisors Chair Ann Wheeler says the event begins at 9:30 a.m.

Prince William police said on November 6, 2022, at 1:35 p.m., officers responded to the 2300 block of Research Ct. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a death. The caller reported to police that they last had contact with an acquaintance on November 5.

When they attempted to contact the acquaintance that day, he did not answer. Upon checking the acquaintance’s tent, which was in a wooded area near the above location, the caller located the man unconscious.

Woodbridge-area businesses have until December 15 to apply and receive funds in the Route 1 Refresh grant. The Route 1 Refresh Grant program provides financial aid to offset the anticipated costs associated with replacing printed materials, signage, and business cards, or to cover costs related to website updates, search engine optimization (SEO), marketing, and other related expenses.

During the 41 drawings of the jackpot run that began in August and ended with the world-record $2.04 billion drawing this morning, Tuesday, November 8, 2022, sales of Powerball tickets in Virginia generated an estimated $42.3 million in profit. By law, all of that profit goes to K-12 public education in Virginia.

In this drawing alone, more than 303,000 Powerball tickets bought in Virginia won prizes ranging from $4 to $100,000. One ticket won $100,000, and three tickets won $50,000 each.
