(The Center Square) – Gov. Glenn Youngkin joined Virginia education leaders and Google executives in announcing a new cybersecurity training program with Northern Virginia Community College.
The Manassas City Police Department has organized a free event to educate individuals about the care of senior citizens.
Topics at the fair include The Continuum of Elder Care, Safety and Security, Legal Concerns as We Age, and Area Resources and Services for Elders.

Someone’s backyard barbeque led to a house fire in Prince William County.
Fire crews were called to a home in the 12000 block of Arthur Graves Jr. Court Bristow at 4:09 a.m. Monday, May 8, 2023.
The Job Fair will feature over 30 businesses, organizations, and government agencies for Prince William area residents seeking new career opportunities. The job fair will allow the public to learn more about jobs in and around Prince William County.
Businesses in attendance will include Koons Automotive, Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center, Walmart, and Wegmans. Multiple Prince William County government departments will be recruiting at the Job Fair. Prince William County Public Schools, City of Manassas Parks, Culture & Recreation, U.S. Air Force and U.S. Coast Guard will also be on-site to discuss career opportunities.
This annual event – free and open to the public and sponsored by the Prince William County Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association – honors the lives and service of 20 men and women who lived or served in Prince William County and died in the line of duty. (more…)
Prince William County Fire and Rescue System Chief Thomas Labelle came on duty Monday after a swearing-in ceremony at the McCoart Government Center.
LaBelle, who will lead the system that includes eight volunteer fire and rescue departments, will be responsible for the system’s Fire, Emergency Medical Services, and Emergency Management Services.
