Interstate Commission on the Potomac River Basin (ICPRB): “The staff of ICPRB’s Section for Cooperative Water Supply on the Potomac (CO-OP) announced the flow of the Potomac River has reached a low significant enough to initiate Drought Operations.”

“Dr. Schultz explains that during Drought Operations, CO-OP staff produce twice-daily reports to stakeholders regarding flow, weather, and demand conditions. The staff uses river flow forecasts to determine whether changes in operations are needed to meet upcoming water demands. These include releases from upstream reservoirs, Jennings Randolph and Little Seneca, to augment Potomac River flow.”

I-95 Northbound: Exit 110 (Ladysmith) to Exit 118 (Thornburg) Sunday – Thursday, 9 p.m. – 5 a.m. Alternating single and double lane closures at mile markers 111–112. Crews will install pavement markers and rumble strips following recent paving.

Stafford County: Route 1 Sunday – Thursday, 8 p.m. – 6 a.m. Single lane closures on Route 1 northbound and southbound between the bridge over Potomac Creek and Layhill Road. Crews will install pavement markings following recent paving.

International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers: “The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 26 made a substantial food donation to the Haymarket Food Pantry on Tuesday, August 22 at 11:00 a.m.”

“This donation is being made in response to repeated public testimony from members of the community calling for additional food resources as supplies struggle to meet demand. Every year since the pandemic has been record breaking for the Haymarket Food Pantry in terms of meals served. Since 2018 the food pantry has seen a 94% increase in families coming in for assistance.”

Press Release: “A Manassas man is behind bars on multiple charges after he fled law enforcement Tuesday (Aug. 22). Virginia State Police have charged Cristian N. Valle, 25, in Fauquier County with one felony count of eluding law enforcement, two felony counts of possession of schedule I/II drug, one misdemeanor count of possession of schedule IV drug, one misdemeanor count of driving under the influence of drugs (DUID), one misdemeanor count possession of a concealed weapon, one misdemeanor count of no operator’s license, and one misdemeanor count of reckless driving. Valle was also wanted out of Maryland on a probation violation.”

“At approximately 8:08 a.m., the Fauquier Sheriff’s Office issued a ‘Be On the Lookout’ for a reckless driver just outside the Town of Warrenton. A short time later, state police observed the suspect vehicle, a 2012 Honda Accord, traveling southbound on Route 29 near the Route 17 business interchange in Fauquier County. State police initiated a traffic stop but the Honda failed to stop. A pursuit was initiated. ”

Prince William Police Department:Strangulation | Domestic Related *ARREST – On August 24, the suspect sought in connection to the domestic disputes that were reported to have occurred at the Motel 6 located at 17133 Dumfries Road in Dumfries (22025) between June 30 and July 2, was arrested. The accused, identified as Allan Jerod HARRIS, was taken into custody by Manassas City police. Arrested on August 24: [No Photo Available] Allan Jerod HARRIS, 45, of 4042 Chetham Way in Woodbridge. Charged with 1 count of strangulation and 2 counts of domestic assault & battery. Court Date: Pending | Bond: Unavailable.”

Strangulation | Domestic Related [Previously Released] – On July 5 at 2:03 p.m., officers responded to investigate an ongoing domestic dispute that was reported to have occurred at the Motel 6 located at 17133 Dumfries Road in Dumfries (22025) between June 30 and July 2. The investigation revealed on June 30, the victim, a 41-year-old woman, and an acquaintance, identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. During the encounter, the accused grabbed the victim and slapped her before throwing her to the ground. The parties eventually separated. On July 2, another verbal altercation between the victim and the accused escalated. During that encounter, the accused struck the victim several times and grabbed her throat before the parties separated. The victim reported minor injuries sustained during both encounters. On July 5, following the investigation, officers obtained arrest warrants for the accused, identified as Allan Jerod HARRIS. Attempts to locate the accused have been unsuccessful.”
