Prince William County Holds 9/11 Memorial Ceremony 24 Years After Terror Attacks

Prince William County marked the 24th anniversary of the September 11, 2001, terror attacks with a memorial ceremony at the Liberty Memorial Fountain on September 11, 2025.

County officials, first responders, and residents gathered to honor the nearly 3,000 people killed that day, including 22 Prince William County residents.

Longtime Fredericksburg School Board Member Leaves Post, Forces Appointment

The announcement was made at the Board’s Monday meeting, the first of the 2025-2026 school year. Boyd was not on the dais as the announcement was made but a plaque was presented to her from the crowd.

“I’m officially declaring my move outside the city to be complete as of Sept. 8, 2025. Since I will no longer primarily reside in the City of Fredericksburg, I’m no longer eligible to hold the Ward 3 seat,” a statement prepared by Boyd read aloud at the meeting said.
