Prince William County Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism, is hosting its 2022 Rocking Around the Boardwalk event featuring a Holiday Walk of Lights and Unique Holiday Tree Display.

Visitors can now walk down a magical path to enjoy handcrafted light displays, and beginning this Saturday, December 10, also view the Unique Holiday Tree Display, Fridays – Sundays, through December 30. Lights not on display December 23-25


On December 7, 2022, Manassas City Police responded to the 9700 block of Bragg Lane for a Breaking and Entering. The suspect made entry into the house.

The suspect was encountered by a resident. The suspect threatened the resident with a box cutter and left the house. Officers encountered the suspect and maintained distance while attempting de-escalation techniques due to the weapon.


A pedestrian bridge will be built over Route 15 near Haymarket, the site of several pedestrian crashes and fatalities in recent years.

Commercial Burglary *FINAL ARREST – On December 8, the second suspect sought in connection to the burglary that was reported to have occurred at Pitkin’s Ace Hardware located at 4340 Dale Blvd. in Dale City on October 12, was arrested. The suspect, Michael Kirk SMITH Jr., was located and taken into custody in Charles County Maryland where he will remain until extradited to Virginia. A 55-year-old man was previously arrested on November 16 in connection to the burglary investigation.

On November 9, while investigating the incident, detectives identified the two suspects who were observed on video surveillance removing property from the store. On November 16, one of the men, identified as Jeffrey Francis KRANZ. was arrested by Fairfax County police.
