At the ceremony, 2014 Leadership graduate, Joe DiStefano, was the keynote speaker sharing five lessons he learned as a leader. The 2023 Class President, Monica Hailey with Atlantic Builders, also shared a message recounting the 2023 class’s experiences.


The purpose of the gathering is to nominate Democratic candidates for the following: County Supervisor (three Districts) and Constitutional Offices in Stafford County in the November 7, 2023, General Election –

Each person seeking to become the Democratic Nominee for the General Election for these County and Constitutional Offices must file a Declaration of Candidacy form with the Stafford County Democratic Committee Chair and pay a $100 nonrefundable fee to the Stafford County Democratic Committee, payable either by check or through ActBlue at http://secure.actblue.com/contribute/page/donatesdc.


Stafford will hold its annual Memorial Day Ceremony on Friday, May 26, at 10 a.m. at the Armed Services Memorial located on the campus of the George L. Gordon, Jr., Government Center, 1300 Courthouse Road, Stafford.

This year’s ceremony is dedicated to the armed service members who died serving our country during the Gulf War. All families of fallen service members and veterans are asked to identify themselves to the greeters for special seating.

Manassas Railway Festival is set to take place on June 3, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The location will be Historic Manassas train station at 9431 West Street.

The 29th annual event is free to attend and visitors of all ages can participate in a activities and attractions. This event is held to help celebrate the railway history of the Manassas community.


However, undergraduates will continue to pay the same tuition fees. In-state residents living on campus will pay $32,415 per year. Out of state, $50,930.

UMW’s main campus is located in Fredericksburg, while its graduate student campus sits at Village Parkway and Route 17 in south Stafford County.


Kona Ice, a shaved ice company, is expanding into Bristow, Nokesville, and Quantico and will feature entertainment, frozen treats, and new fundraising opportunities in the area.

Kona’s truck, which began serving the community in March, offers a self-service dispensing system allowing for full customization. Guests have the option to choose from the 20-plus flavors and four different sizing options; child size (nine ounces), classic (12 ounces), large (16 ounces), and what the company calls a Kowabunga size (22 ounces).
