Stafford County Sheriff’s Office: “35,000 fentanyl pills were taken off the streets of Stafford due to the hard work of our Special Investigations Unit.”

“On October 2nd at approximately 5:24 p.m. deputies responded to a residence in Stafford for drug activity. The victim advised they received a package in the mail that was sent to the wrong address. Within the package was a plethora of fentanyl pills. Approximately 15,000 pills were seized. Due to the nature of the incident, our Special Investigations Unit was notified and took over the investigation.”


VDOT: “The off-ramp from Interstate 95 southbound to exit 133 (Falmouth/Warrenton) at Route 17 and Route 17 Business in Stafford County will remain open the remainder of this week. Overnight ramp closures scheduled for Oct. 18-20 at this location have been canceled.”

Alzheimer’s Association National Capital Area Chapter: “More than 500 people are expected to unite in a movement to reclaim the future for millions by participating in the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s Virginia Tri-Counties on Saturday, Oct. 21 at the Harris Pavilion in Manassas, VA.”

“Registration will open at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday. The ceremony will begin at 9:30 a.m., followed by the Walk. Participation is free; however, participants are encouraged to raise funds.”


Captain Tina Laguna has served the Manassas Police Department for over 29 years. She started in 1994 working in the city’s 911 call center. Since then, she has served in every division within the department.

However, Laguna’s initial plan did not include being a police officer. “I grew up in Manassas, specifically in Georgetown South. Unfortunately, I did not have the best experience with the police,” explained Laguna.

Stafford Sheriff’s office: “The suspect from the Rappahannock Landing subdivision shooting is currently in the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office’s custody.”

“On October 11th, at approximately 2:45 p.m. deputies responded to the 200 block of Streamview Drive in the Rappahannock Landing subdivision for multiple calls of shots fired. When deputies arrived, they located a 42-year-old Stafford man Derrick Campbell with multiple gunshot wounds. He unfortunately succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.”


I-95 Northbound: Exit 118 (Thornburg) to Exit 126 (Spotsylvania): Sunday – Thursday, 9 p.m. – 5:30 a.m. Varying single and double lane closures at mile markers 121-122 for milling, paving, and pavement patching.

I-95 Southbound: Exit 140 (Courthouse Road): Monday – Thursday, 9 p.m. – 10 a.m. and Thursday – Friday, 9 p.m. – 6 a.m. Varying single and double lane closures for 95 Express Lanes Fredericksburg Extension construction.


STEP VA: “STEP VA Inc. brought in more than $50,000 at its 10-Year Anniversary Gala last weekend. It marks the most the organization has brought it at one time.'”

“The money raised will allow the organization to establish its own space for classroom and creative use. STEP VA has held class meetings at locations either rented from the community or loaned by local businesses and houses of worship. Still, the group has never had its own establishment.”


The Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce will take 50 representatives from regional businesses, education organizations, government, and nonprofits to Lexington, Kentucky on October 11-13.
