Downtown Fredericksburg was filled with Halloween spirit Saturday morning as families took part in the annual Costume Stroll, kicking off a festive day of trick-or-treating and community fun.
The event began with the Family Costume Stroll at 9:30 a.m., where participants lined up at VRE Lot B before parading down Caroline Street in their best spooky, silly, and creative costumes. Children, parents, and even a few pets joined in, drawing cheers and smiles from spectators.

“The City of Fredericksburg invites residents and business owners to attend a public meeting on Thursday, November 13, 2025, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Fredericksburg Visitor Center, 601 Caroline Street,” the City of Fredericksburg announced.
“This community meeting will provide an opportunity for the public to share feedback on the ongoing Downtown Traffic Engineering Study, which aims to improve safety, traffic flow, and accessibility throughout the downtown area.”
“The Fredericksburg Office of Elections has announced updates to the official names of two polling locations ahead of the upcoming November 2025 General Election,” City of Fredericksburg stated. “These changes reflect updated facility names and are intended to minimize confusion.”
“Bridge washing will require alternating lane closures along I-95 northbound and southbound between Exit 110 (Ladysmith) and Exit 118 (Thornburg),” Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) announced. “Work is scheduled Sunday through Saturday, 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., at the bridge over the Matta River.”
“Additional bridge washing will take place between Exit 130 (Route 3) and Exit 133 (Falmouth/Warrenton), with alternating lane closures in both local and through lanes at the I-95 bridges over the Rappahannock River,” VDOT stated.

The Fredericksburg Economic Development Authority voted Monday to fund a new series of workshops and networking events aimed at helping local small businesses grow, collaborate, and strengthen the city’s entrepreneurial community.
The EDA approved $5,000 to launch the initiative, which will include two quarterly programs — a Business Strategy and Skills Series and a Business Core Networking Series. Both are designed to give Fredericksburg business owners a space to learn practical skills, share ideas, and connect with one another.
