Occoquan announces their spring event is back for 2023. Peep Week in Occoquan takes place from April 4 to 8, 2023.

Peep week is an annual spring event in Occoquan that invites the community to participate in building a Peeps diorama. If you enter, you can win a $50 prize in your category, or you can vote for one made by a local Occoquan business.


The theater department of Mountain View High School (MVHS) will bring Les Miserables – School Edition to the high school stage beginning March 24.

Known as the Mountain View WildActs, the group has previously earned awards from the Virginia High School League, the Virginia Theatre Association, and the SouthEastern Theatre Conference. The 30 student performers are joined in a cross-curricular production that includes 30 crew members and 20 musicians spanning theater, band, orchestra, and fine art.


The ARTfactory is to present the Instructors Exhibit, an exhibition showcasing 20 past, present, and future instructors at the ARTfactory.

Instructors found at ARTfactory range from teaching areas of acting, visual arts/ theatre, dancing, vocal, dance, animation, and graphic design. Many of the instructors in the exhibit are local artists that teach and help with our programming at the factory.


Ragtime has rolled onto the stage at Riverside Center for the Performing Arts.

The show tells the story of three groups in the U.S. at the turn of the 20th Century — blacks, white suburbanites, and European immigrants in New York City.


Fun Land of Fredericksburg opened two new rides, Patriot Plunge and The Flip Side, marking a $1 million investment into the city’s amusement park.

Both standalone “flat” rides seat 12 people, stand 40 feet tall, and serve as a new draw to the outdoor section of the park that has seen recent expansions, including Virginia’s first three-level go-kart track opened in 2019. Patriots Plunge is a drop tower attraction, while The Flip Side is a spinning pendulum.


Laurel E. Howard is the new director of Historic Manassas, Inc., the non-profit responsible for organizing many of the city’s events, like First Friday and Celebrate America Fireworks.

This 7.46-mile run takes participants through the grounds of Officer Candidates School, offering unique access to the area where future Marine leaders train. Runners are pushed to rise to the challenge and conquer paved streets to gravely paths.

The live event marks the third qualifier for the Distinguished Participant medal. To qualify for this coveted title, runners must register and complete a live event from each of MCMO’s event weekends in 2023:


The Prince William County Alumnae Chapter’s Delta DEARS coordinated a book drive to collect new books for two Title 1 Prince William County elementary schools.

The DEARS, as they are known, are members of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., who are aged 62 years or older. D.E.A.R.S is an acronym for Dedicated Energetic Active Respected Sorors.
