“Our innovative program raises awareness about the advantages of skills training and eliminates cost as a barrier to getting it,” said Patrick Small, Economic Development Director for the City of Manassas. “We have high-tech, high-wage jobs open with world-class employers in our community that don’t require college degrees,” he added. “We want our residents to get our jobs and are investing local resources to make that happen.”

Deputies nab Foxwood Village knifepoint robber

Stafford County sheriff: “On June 2nd at approximately 8:37 p.m., deputies responded to an attempted robbery on Foxwood Drive. The victim was able to flee from the suspect during the incident. Less than 20 minutes later, deputies responded to Vista Woods Road for a successful robbery.

“Since June 2nd, both deputies and detectives have been working nonstop to identify the suspects involved as two more knife point robberies were committed, most recently on June 8th.”

Man, 19, shot and killed on Lafayette Boulevard

Fredericksburg police: “The Fredericksburg Police Department is actively investigating a fatal shooting. Earlier [Sunday, June 11, 2023] at approximately 3:30 a.m., the Fredericksburg E-911 Center received a call about an unconscious male bleeding in the 1700 block of Lafayette Boulevard.”

“Patrol officers responded swiftly and located the male who had gunshot wounds. Officers immediately began performing lifesaving measures until EMS arrived. Shortly after, the victim was pronounced dead.”

Prince William County fire and rescue crews were called to a townhouse fire at 3:27 p.m., Sunday, June 11, 2023.

Prince William County fire marshal: “Units were dispatched to the 12000 block of Malvern Way in Bristow for a resident reporting a townhouse on fire across the street. Crews arrived with heavy smoke and fire showing from the rear of the address.

Rustic Pathways: “16-year-old Khadeejah Alsheikh and Yusur Al Ogaidi [Osbourn Park High School outside Manassas] are featured in Rustic Spirit Spotlights for their amazing impact work – Their focus is on educating the Muslim community about environmental issues and implementing recycling practices.”
