Stafford County Sheriff’s Office: “On June 14th, at approximately 5:49 p.m., Deputy E.E. West responded to Kellogg Mill Road for a single-vehicle auto accident. The caller advised the driver smelled like alcoholic beverages. When Deputy West arrived on the scene, she observed the vehicle in a ditch with damage to its front bumper. The road was shut down until the vehicle could be properly removed.”

“The driver advised he was traveling South on Kellogg Mill Road after work when the vehicle in front of him began to slow down. The driver attempted to slow down; however, his brakes were so bad he could not slow down in time. To avoid a crash, he swerved into the ditch. The driver had red, glassy eyes, slurred speech, the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath, and admitted to consuming some Twisted Tea.”


Prince William

Prince William County Sheriff: “Prince William County Sheriff Glendell Hill is pleased to announce the awarding of $500 and $1,000 scholarships to six local college students on Friday, June 9, 2023. The scholarship presentation was held in the Prince William County Sheriff’s Office Conference Room.”

“The scholarship recipients, among their family members, were recognized for their academic achievements and commitment to pursuing a college education in the criminal justice field. During the presentation, Sheriff Hill spoke to the students on the importance of staying grounded. He stated, “don’t let peer pressure cause you to make bad decisions because it will affect your future career in criminal justice negatively.” He also commended the students for wanting to pursue a career in law enforcement.”

Prince William police: “Armed Robbery | Abduction *ARREST – On June 14, the suspect sought in connection to the assault that was reported to have occurred at the Rivergate Apartments located in the 13100 block of Marina Way in Woodbridge (22191) on June 13, was arrested. The accused, identified as Victor Manuel GONZALEZ CISNEROS, was located and taken into custody by members of the U.S. Capitol Police in Washington D.C., where he will remain until extradited to Prince William County.”

Nikki Rattray Baldwin is running in a GOP Primary Election for the Virginia Senate 29th District seat, which includes portions of central and eastern Prince William County and a portion of North Stafford.

Baldwin is a Navy veteran, a wife of a U.S. Marine of 13 years, and the mother of a 9-year-old boy. In the Navy, Baldwin worked as an EMT, disaster search and rescue, and as a protocol officer for the Defense Intelligence Agency. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree focusing on psychology and a Master’s Degree in public administration.

Northern Virginia Transportation Authority: “On June 8th, the Northern Virginia Transportation Authority (NVTA) marked a momentous occasion as it celebrated two significant milestones. This year, NVTA is proudly commemorating its 20th anniversary since its establishment, in addition to celebrating its 10th funding anniversary. These achievements were made possible through the passing of two pivotal bills.”

“In 2002, former Governor Mark Warner signed Senate Bill 576, which brought NVTA into existence. This legislation laid the foundation for the Authority to address transportation challenges in Northern Virginia. Over a decade later, in 2013, former Governor Robert McDonnell signed House Bill 2313, a transformative bill that granted NVTA a dedicated revenue stream. The funding made possible by HB 2313 has been instrumental in supporting NVTA’s mission of financing multimodal transportation projects aimed at reducing congestion across the region.”

Fredericksburg Nationals: “The FredNats dropped a 1-0 nail biter to the Myrtle Beach Pelicans in their second meeting of the week.”

“Bryan Caceres took the ball for Fredericksburg, and continued what has been a very good run for him in his return to the starting rotation. He gave up just two base hits in five scoreless innings, but did walk four hitters. Caceres worked himself into and out of trouble throughout the night. On two separate occasions, Myrtle Beach had runners on second and third with one out, but could not score against the FredNat righty.”
