An overturned tractor-trailer has closed all southbound travel lanes of Interstate 95 at mile marker 145 in Stafford County, the Virginia Department of Transportation said Friday night.
The crash is about 1.3 miles north of Exit 143 (Garrisonville Road / Aquia), VDOT’s I-95 alert feed said. Traffic was being squeezed past the scene on the left shoulder. About four miles of congestion was building toward the wreck as of VDOT’s 8:19 p.m. alert.
Spotsylvania deputies arrested a 30-year-old Spotsylvania man Friday morning after a vehicle pursuit, ending a joint search tied to two sexual assaults at massage businesses on Plank Road.
Cesar Mario Torres Juarez was the only person in the vehicle and was taken into custody without further incident, the Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office said. Deputies are seeking additional charges related to the chase.

A Maryland tractor-trailer driver died Thursday morning after his rig left Interstate 95 northbound and struck the Courthouse Road overpass in Stafford County, Virginia, State Police said.
The crash happened about 11:20 a.m. at the 140-mile marker, at Exit 140. Troopers identified the driver as Derek P. Volkmer, 40, of Glen Burnie, Maryland. Volkmer died at the scene, according to a 5:42 p.m. update from Virginia State Police Public Relations Coordinator Matthew Demlein.
A passenger was killed early Wednesday after a vehicle left Richmond Highway in Stafford and caught fire, the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office said Thursday.
Deputies are still trying to identify the driver of a black SUV who stopped and pulled the other occupant from the burning vehicle. The passenger was pronounced dead at the scene.
A D-BAT Baseball & Softball Academy is coming to The Shops of England Run on Warrenton Road, in the large storefront next to Rappahannock Goodwill’s new store in the former Big Lots space.
Owners Carrie and Brent Curtis say the indoor academy will be more than 14,000 square feet and will include 10 batting cages, a Rawlings-sponsored pro shop, and a flex room for birthday parties or corporate events. They are aiming to open in December or January.
