Two suspects face an assault by mob charges after an incident in Towne Center at Aquia last week.

On February 27 at 2:48 a.m. Deputy C.S. Harding responded to Stafford Hospital Center for an assault report. The victim had injuries to his eye and nose and received treatment from hospital staff.

On Saturday, March 5 at 11:20 p.m., police went to a home located in the 14400 block of Lamar Road in Woodbridge to investigate a shots fired call.

A resident said they saw a green laser light shining into the living room before hearing a loud noise followed by the sound of glass shattering. A bullet shattered the home’s glass front door, said police.

Special Olympics Virginia held its Basketball Championships at Colonial Forge High School in Stafford County on Saturday, March 5.

It’s one of Special Olympics Virginia‘s annual statewide competitions. The event, regularly held at Colonial Forge High School, was the first there since 2020.

Police said a man tried to grab the 20-year-old woman while she was walking toward her home in the 10400 block of Butterfield Street, located about a mile from a Home Depot, and Oh! International Food Market near Interstate 66.

The woman drove parked her car outside her home at 9:05 p.m. Before she got out of her car, she saw a man pull up in a tan-colored sedan, park, get out and walk toward the apartment complex.

A woman from Alabama was died while sitting in a disabled SUV on the Captial Beltway, and a Washington, D.C. man is now facing charges.

Virginia State Police is investigating a fatal crash in Fairfax County. The crash occurred at 9:27 p.m. Saturday. March 5 on Interstate 495 near Exit 174/Eisenhower Ave Connector in Alexandria.
