New photos taken near the Rappahannock Regional Jail show what’s being flushed down the drain.

The Stafford County Government, responsible for maintaining the sewer system at the jail at 1745 Richmond Highway, says it found everything from food wrappers, all of which they say flowed into a pipe from the jail.

The Quartz District and the Whole Foods grocery store to anchor the mixed-use development — a first for Prince William County — comes before the Board of County Supervisors tonight.

Two developers, SKW VA, Inc. and Southern Knolls, LLC, seek approval to rezone 145 acres at Prince William Parkway and Minnieville Road in Woodbridge. It plans to build 1,000 new homes, commercial retail and office space, a pavilion, and new parks and walking paths.

Supervisor Yesli Vega, the Republican nominee for U.S. Congress in Virginia’s 7th District, has been critical of President Joe Biden’s student loan forgiveness plan and decries “reckless” government spending in a recent TV ad. Yet Vega and her husband filed for personal bankruptcy in 2009 and had more than $96,000 in debts discharged in the proceeding, including more than $46,000 in student loans, according to court records.
