STAFFORD, Va. – The folks at Teamsters Local 322 just told Potomac Local News that more than 200 drivers at Genesis Logistics—part of DHL Supply Chain—have officially gone on strike after talks over their first union contract collapsed.
These drivers, who deliver to 7‑Eleven stores across the Mid‑Atlantic, had been building pressure all summer. Back in mid‑July, about 50 of them staged a “practice picket” at the warehouse on Bradburn Place, chanting “Who are we? Teamsters!” and calling out stalled negotiations and poor pay. It was a call for “respect, not convenience,” and a way to push Genesis to start bargaining in earnest.
You can check out that earlier story here: Genesis Logistics Drivers Rally in Stafford, Demand Fair Pay and Union Contract.
Since then, local Teamsters say management’s been dragging its feet—and even ramping up anti‑union tactics. After voting overwhelmingly in April to join the union, the drivers authorized a strike amid what they describe as bad faith bargaining and retaliation. Now, they’ve given notice and hit the picket line.

TEAMSTERS AT GENESIS LOGISTICS LAUNCH STRIKE
Drivers at DHL Subsidiary Hit the Picket Line Over Bad Faith Bargaining, Unfair Labor Practices
(STAFFORD, Va.) – More than 200 drivers at Genesis Logistics, a subsidiary of DHL Supply Chain, are on strike after the company failed to bargain seriously and committed multiple unfair labor practices. The Teamsters Local 322 members deliver to 7-Eleven convenience stores across the Mid-Atlantic and are demanding a fair first contract that includes real wage increases, affordable health care, and safer working conditions.
“This company has a legal and moral obligation to bargain with us constructively,” said Derrick Quinn, a Genesis Logistics driver and member of Local 322. “Instead, management has dragged their feet, disrespected the collective bargaining process, and left us no choice but to strike.”
Genesis drivers voted by over 90 percent to join the Teamsters in April. Since then, management has refused to engage in serious negotiations and ramped up its anti-union tactics.
“Our members are done waiting,” said Dwayne Johnson, Teamsters International Organizer. “The company’s stall tactics and arrogance have only strengthened our resolve. We’ll stay out as long as it takes until Genesis starts treating workers with dignity and respect.”
“Genesis Logistics … would rather stall and intimidate workers than sit down and hammer out a fair deal,” said Bill Hamilton, Director of the Teamsters Express Division and Eastern Region VP. “We’re not going to let them get away with it. Local 322 members have the full support of over 1.3 million Teamsters nationwide, and we will fight alongside them until they win the contract they deserve.”
