In response to an upswing of anti-Semitic events in Virginia, Gov. Glenn Youngkin announced his intention to form a council to combat the issue.
Youngkin will form the Commission to Combat Anti-Semitism. His administration is seeking applicants to join this council.
According to Rabbi Lizz Goldstein of Congregation Ner Shalom in Woodbridge, the governor's new commission is sorely needed in the state. Anti-Semitic incidents are rising across the state, evidenced by the discovery of a swastika painted on an overpass on Prince William Parkway on February 2.Â
