“Impaired driving is both reckless and preventable,” Prince William County Police Department stated. “Drivers break the law by driving impaired, putting thousands of travelers at risk every day.”
“No excuses and no warnings. If drivers are caught driving impaired, they will be arrested,” the department added. “Remember, Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over!”
The Prince William County Police Department is joining law enforcement agencies across Virginia in stepped-up DUI enforcement through Jan. 1, 2026. The campaign comes as summer travel winds down and the school year begins, a period when police say keeping roads safe is especially critical. Virginia law carries harsher penalties for impaired drivers who seriously injure others, including felony charges and potential prison time for cases involving permanent or significant injuries.
