Remote Area Medical: “RAM urgently needs volunteers to help provide free dental, vision and medical Remote Area Medical services to the Luray, Va. and surrounding communities on Sept. 30-Oct. 1.”
The two-day clinic is to be held at Luray High School, located at 243 Bulldog Drive, Luray. RAM is also in general need of support volunteers to set up on Sep 29, and to take down on Oct 1. Individuals do not need to work on the medical field in order to volunteer as general support.

“Troops will be deployed from the Portsmouth-based 2nd Squadron, 183rd Cavalry Regiment, 116th Infantry Brigade Combat Team. The unit’s designation is 2nd Squadron, 183rd Cavalry Regiment, and its higher headquarters is the 116th Infantry Brigade Combat Team.”
Attorney General Jason Miyares press release: “Attorney General Jason Miyares today joined 24 other state attorneys general challenging the Biden Administration’s proposed regulation on vehicle tailpipe emissions. The Biden Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) plan would forcibly phase out gas-powered vehicles and completely restructure the automobile industry around electric vehicles (EVs) at an alarming pace. The aggressive proposal aims to boost certain EV sales from 8.4% of total vehicle sales today to 67% by 2032.”
“The attorneys general argue such a move by the EPA would damage regional economies, undermine the reliability of our electrical grids, tax the families and small businesses who depend on them, and jeopardize our national security.”

Prince William County Government: “All Prince William County government offices, including courts, Prince William Public Libraries, the Prince William County Landfill, and the Balls Ford Road Composting Facility, will be closed Tuesday, July 4 in observance of Independence Day.”
Virginia ABC: “Beginning Saturday, July 1, four laws impacting the operation of the Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Authority (ABC), its licensees and applicants for ABC licenses will take effect. The Virginia General Assembly passed the following Virginia ABC-related legislation during the 2023 session, and Gov. Glenn Youngkin has since signed them into law.”
“Crossover Product Rules (HB 1979 and SB 809) – Both bills established guidelines for licensees regarding the display of alcoholic beverages near non-alcoholic beverages of the same or similar branding, logo or packaging. The new law was created to address innovative “crossover products” that contain alcohol and may cause consumer confusion or appeal to an underage audience.”
“The property was previously held by the Trust for Public Land (TPL), a national nonprofit organization that works to protect public land. The organization worked with the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) through its acquisition process to transfer the property to the Commonwealth for permanent stewardship. It has been managed as a Virginia State Park since 2016.”
“The park’s master plan (PDF) (PDF), approved in 2021, called for making several improvements after the state took ownership, including moving Route 11 off the bridge, as recommended by the Virginia Department of Transportation.”

“The Potomac Riverkeeper Network and the Natural Resources Defense Council filed suit in the U.S. District Court in Baltimore, alleging NSWC Dahlgren has discharged over 33 million pounds of munitions into the Potomac containing toxic metals, solvents, explosives and other potentially harmful constituents.”
