The project, which is slated to have 1,058 units along more than 1,100 acres, has caused significant resident pushback. The developments are in the rural areas of western Prince William County, near the Prince William Gold Club, the Alderwood Fields, Patriot High School and Burnside Farms.

According to the staff reports, there would be a total of 855 single-family detached homes and 136 townhouses across the three properties. The developer planned to have 712 acres dedicated to open space with 10 miles of trails nestled within the development. There would also be transportation improvements along Vint Hill Road to accommodate the large development.

Prince William County Launches Planning Effort for Vint Hill Road Corridor

“Prince William County is launching an exciting new planning effort to help guide thoughtful, sustainable growth along the Vint Hill Road Corridor,” the county’s Planning Office announced. “The Vint Hill Corridor Small Area Plan (SAP) will build on our community’s vision: protecting rural character, strengthening economic opportunity, and preserving what makes this area truly special.”

The Vint Hill Corridor SAP will be developed in collaboration with residents, business owners, and local stakeholders to balance growth, enhance mobility, and support locally rooted businesses while maintaining the area’s rural charm. A community kickoff meeting will take place on November 17.

Planning Commission Approves 1,000+ Unit Development Along Vint Hill

In a 6-1 vote — Christopher Carroll, who represented the Brentsville District, left the Commission before the decision — the Planning Commission is passing along the project to the Board of Supervisors for their consideration.

The project spans 1,123 total acres with 1,058 units across three developments. One of the developments is adjacent to the Prince William Golf Club and the Longleaf Nature Preserve and is aptly named “Long Leaf at Kettle Run.”

Presented by Triune Entertainment, Into the Sun follows Freddy and Mary Sigfried as they navigate the emotional and moral upheavals of World War I. Freddy, eager to serve, rises through the military ranks but is haunted by the consequences of leadership. Meanwhile, Mary breaks with tradition by taking a job in a munitions factory, eventually grappling with the ethics of her work.

Director Esther Wells called the show “an honor” to direct, highlighting its local roots and cast of talented regional performers. Leading roles include Ryan Schaffer as Freddy and Audrey Mollo as Mary, joined by Cam Ezell, Joseph Allen, and others in a rich ensemble cast.

Journey Theater is pleased to present the World Premiere of Dr. Harry J. Kantrovich’s and Bruce H. “Doc” Norton’s Voices From Vietnam, a collection of interviews, stories, letter and reflections from Vietnam Veterans; Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines as well as the Nurses and Women who served, POWs, MIA families, a Vietnamese refugee, an embassy statesman and college and school students.

In February 2023, Harry Kantrovich, a retired Navy Master Chief met Bruce H. “Doc” Norton, a retired Marine Corps Major and Vietnam Veteran. Harry asked Doc to collaborate on a play and an accompanying book about Vietnam. Journey Theater in Warrenton, VA agreed to premiere the play and the accompanying book.
