Schools

All public schools in Stafford County, Prince William County, Fredericksburg City, Manassas City, and Manassas Park City will be closed on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, in observance of Veterans Day, as announced by the school divisions.

Regular classes and activities will resume on Wednesday, November 12. School offices and administrative buildings may have varied operating hours; families are encouraged to check their division’s website for details: Prince William County, Stafford County, Fredericksburg City, Manassas City, and Manassas Park City.


Prince William

The department noted that the Pat White Center at Ben Lomond, Veterans Memorial Park Community Center, Birchdale Community Center, and George Hellwig Administration Building will be closed in observance of Veterans Day.

Fredericksburg

“In observance of Veterans Day, City of Fredericksburg Government offices will be closed Tuesday, November 11,” City of Fredericksburg Government announced. “Looking to honor our Veterans? Join us for the Veterans Day Procession and Commemoration Ceremony at 10 a.m.”

City officials noted that trash and recycling collection will run on a normal schedule, but there will be no leaf collection. The Belman Road Recycling Center and Stafford Landfill will be open, while FXBGO! transit services will not operate. The Fredericksburg Visitor Center will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and the City Council meeting originally scheduled for November 11 will instead be held on Tuesday, November 18.


Manassas Park

The U.S. Army Band is partnering with George Mason University’s Veterans and the Arts Initiative to present A Salute to Veterans!—a free concert honoring those who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces. The performance will be held at the Hylton Performing Arts Center, and tickets are available at no cost through the Hylton Center Ticket Office.


Manassas

The annual parade in Downtown Manassas celebrated local veterans and military families, featuring marching bands, community groups, and classic vehicles as residents lined the streets to honor those who served.


Stafford

“Stafford offices, departments, facilities, and all courts will be closed on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, for Veterans Day,” Stafford County announced. “Both locations of the R-Board/Regional Landfill (Eskimo Hill and Belman Road) will be open on Veterans Day.”

The County confirmed that Fire and Rescue, the Sheriff’s Office, and the Magistrate’s Office will remain operational, along with all outdoor parks, which will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Essential services such as emergency response and law enforcement will continue uninterrupted during the holiday.


Features

“The Northern Virginia Veterans Parade, honoring all Veterans and their families, will take place Saturday, November 1 at 11:00 a.m. in Old Town Manassas,” VetPar, Inc. announced. “This year marks the 17th annual celebration — attendees are encouraged to arrive early to grab seats along the parade route.”

 


Fredericksburg
