Lewis is an Emmy, Tony, GRAMMY, and SAG Award nominee Accompanied by a trio of musicians on the intimate Merchant Hall stage, Lewis’ performance will include stories and songs that highlight his accomplished career on stage and screen, giving Hylton Center audiences a chance to experience “just about everything a leading man with a mighty voice should be,” The New York Times worte.
In addition to a performance featuring songs from his career, Lewis will host a masterclass at the Hylton Center the following day with high school students from Prince William County, Manassas, and Manassas Park on September 19.
Manassas School Board members unanimously voted to purchase 8700 Centreville Road, a building in which it rents space for central office employees. The school division wants to buy the 55,000-square-foot building for $10.8 million.
The move throws a plan to move into the city’s police station at 9518 Fairview Avenue. Police will vacate the space for a new public safety center early next year.
The Virginia Department of Education released new Standards of Learning data today.
The SOL tests measure student math, science, reading, and writing performance.
Manassas will welcome back 7,600 students at five elementary schools, two intermediate schools, one middle school, and one high school.
It’s the first time in two years that students will return to schools without facemask or social distancing requirements due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The fair will be held from 8 a.m. to noon at Osbourn High School and feature more than 30 community partners providing much-needed resources to families.
Students will also be able to receive required vaccines, including the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV), tetanus, Diptheria, pertussis (Tdap), and Meningococcal Conjugate (MenACWY).
