WOODBRIDGE, Va. – Woodbridge is raising a glass one last time as Brew Republic Bierwerks prepares to close its doors for good after nearly a decade in business.
The beloved brewery, located at 15201 Potomac Town Place in Stonebridge Town Center, will host its “Closing Time Party” from Friday, July 25 through Sunday, July 27 — a weekend-long celebration filled with live music, karaoke, trivia, and farewell toasts. The brewery invites the community to stop by for one final round of fun, food, and memories.
WOODBRIDGE, Va. – Brew Republic Bierwerks, a longtime fixture in the Stonebridge Town Center, will permanently close its doors after nearly nine years in business.
According to a message shared by the brewery, its landlord has terminated the lease, and with the high costs of relocating and ongoing challenges in the restaurant and brewery industries, the owners have decided not to reopen elsewhere. “This isn’t the opportunity-rich environment breweries had experienced in 2016 when we opened,” they wrote.
Red Dragon, 6 Bears & A Goat, Highmark, and Strangeways – Fredericksburg’s local breweries have helped the city earn a nomination for USA Today’s 10 Best Readers’ Choice Awards for Best Small Town Beer Scenes. Staunton is the only other Virginia city on the list.
The city said the nomination celebrates the area’s craft beer culture and recognizes the community of brewers and craft beer enthusiasts. Josh Summits, Director of Economic Development and Tourism for the city, said, “This nomination is a testament to the hard work of our local breweries and the support of our community. We invite everyone to cast their votes daily and help us showcase Fredericksburg’s exceptional beer culture to the nation.”
