“It’s the same bill, different year,” Virginia Mercury reported. “The entire point of it is to reduce FOIA fees, so that the fees that are being charged are actually being used simply to cover the actual costs associated with pursuing FOIA requests in the first place, instead of being used as a deterrent for the public to not pursue FOIA requests.”
“Public documents are public, your tax dollars have already paid for these documents in the first place,” Roem said. “Therefore, you should have the lowest barrier possible to accessing them.”
“It is a master class of emotions,” InsideNoVa reported. “From the highest point you can get to the lowest point – and somewhere in between, there’s a heck of a lot of joy and excitement. The show is a quintessential show.”
“We’re called ‘Hardeman and Hardeman,’ the law firm,” Seth Hardeman said. “We’re a duo in California and at home.”

Prince William County police investigated two separate incidents involving gunfire into homes on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day—fortunately, no injuries were reported in either case.
In Woodbridge, around 5:16 a.m. on January 1, a bullet shattered a glass door at the Dale Forest Apartments on Wabash Place. Two shell casings were found nearby. The day before, near Manassas, a bullet entered a home on Lucasville Road around 3:26 p.m. No injuries were reported in either incident, and both cases are under investigation as reckless handling of a firearm.
The action authorizes VRE to seek approval from its governing commissions to execute a Capital Project Funding Addendum with the Virginia Passenger Rail Authority, thereby enabling the project to proceed to planning, environmental review, and design.
The Woodbridge project is part of VRE’s broader effort to prepare stations and infrastructure for longer trains and future rail capacity improvements. Approval of the funding addendum is required for VRE to access state-supplied matching funds under an existing master agreement with VPRA.

A house fire displaced eight people Sunday evening in Woodbridge after an accidental stove activation sparked a blaze in the kitchen.
Fire crews were called to the 4200 block of Gustus Drive in Dale City about 6:30 p.m. and arrived to find an active fire in a single-family home’s kitchen. All five adults and three children inside had safely evacuated, thanks to working smoke detectors, according to a release from Prince William County Fire and Rescue.
Virginia State Police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred early Saturday morning on Interstate 95 in Prince William County.
The crash happened at 7:20 a.m. on December 27, 2025, in the southbound lanes near the 150-mile marker. According to police, a 2006 Ford F-250 pickup truck veered off the right side of the road and struck a guardrail. The impact caused the attached trailer to detach, and both the truck and trailer overturned.
